Where does Canadian Auto Associates get its cars?Canadian Auto Associates has relationships forged over years of business with dealers and brokers across Canada and the United States. It is this bond of trust that enables us to acquire vehicles that our competitors simply do not have access to. Whether it be a company executive car, a new car dealer trade in, or an off-lease vehicle, we do not let borders stand in the way of delivering desirable, low milage, extra clean vehicles to our clients.
Can I have the car mechanically inspected?
It is our absolute mission for you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase. Canadian Auto Associates allows full pre-buy inspections on all its vehicles. We are confident that our Premium Pre-Owned Certified vehicles will meet or exceed any dealer or inspection service standards. Any inspections are conducted at the purchaser's expense.
What can I expect from my purchase?
You can expect great service, a great price and an impeccable car. We aim to describe the car as accurate as possible. We only offer pre-owned vehicles and by definition our vehicles are not brand new. It is important when buying a used vehicle to understand that it is not brand new - it has been driven a certain number of miles. However, we make every attempt to deliver our vehicles fully reconditioned and equipped with spare keys, owners manuals, navigation discs, wireless head sets and floormats (if equipped). Our quality offerings are equal to any vehicles sold in reputable franchised dealerships across the country. In fact, many of these dealers buy our inventory only to turn around and sell it at much higher prices.
I am outside of Ontario, do you ship out of province?
Canadian Auto Associates uses several fully bonded and insured transportation services that will deliver the vehicle to your door. Depending on the mode of transportation (rail or truck), it usually takes about 5-21 days and costs between $400 and $1800 depending on your location in Canada. We also welcome you to come to us, as many customers book flights into Toronto International or Waterloo International Airports. Should you choose this option, we'll be glad to pick you up from the airport.
I am in the USA. Can Canadian Auto Associates Import my car for me ???
With current exchange rates, buying a pre-owned vehicle from Canadian Auto Associates makes for great value. Canadian Auto Associates has exported and imported thousands of vehicles to and from the United States.... in fact that's all we do. Rest assured that you are doing business with the best. There are five key components to importing a car into the U.S. from Canada:
- The Registered Importer Program certifies that a vehicle meets USA EPA & DOT standards. The fee, which includes brokerage is $295 USD.
- Speedometer / Odometer conversion from kilometres to miles for most domestic vehicles is $250 USD.
- Under NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) vehicles built in the U.S., Canada or Mexico that are imported to the U.S. are NOT subject to any duty or tariffs. Vehicles built outside NAFTA are subject to a duty of 2.71%. For example a Toyota 4Runner built in Japan with a VIN # starting with a "J" would be subject to this duty.
- Canadian Auto Associates can provide either a province of Ontario title, or a U.S. title upon purchase. The fee for an Ontario title is $20 USD. The fee for a U.S. title is $125 USD.
- In an effort to reduce border delays, Canadian Auto Associates can deliver a vehicle to Buffalo, New York. The fee is $200 USD. From Buffalo arrangements can be made with our extensive list of bonded transportation companies to deliver anywhere in the continental U.S. at an additional charge.
Can I Add Extended Mechanical Coverage/Roadside Assistance through your Dealership?
Yes! We strongly suggest protecting your pocketbook from unexpected service repairs with one of the two Extended Service Contracts that we offer. Whether the vehicle carries partial manufacturer warranty, is out of manufacturer coverage, or has no coverage in Canada, we can see that you are protected with your own tailored service plan. Both companies have excellent track records, and you are able to service your vehicle at any licensed mechanics shop in Canada or the United States. Our Finance Manager will answer all of your questions and ensure that you are completely covered for the future.
