The RX 330 is Lexus’ second-generation midsize car-based luxury SUV, available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The 2006 Lexus RX 330 receives some minor interior updates and a number of options are added. The front passenger seat receives 2-way power lumbar adjustment and the glove box is illuminated with LED lighting. Available options include a six-disc CD changer, dynamic laser cruise control, navigation system with rear back-up camera, rear seat entertainment system, adjustable front seat heaters, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive front lighting system with high intensity discharge headlights, towing package, roof rails and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. While the original RX 300 stood apart from the premium SUV pack, its enlarged successor has more ordinary driving qualities. Smooth highways yield a beautiful ride. The suspension reacts quickly and its body doesn't lean badly through curves, The RX 330 rides neatly in its lane on freeways. Its steering has a slightly lighter touch than average. Bright electronic gauges are easy to read, . The seats are inviting, and front occupants get plenty of space. Rear headroom and legroom are abundant. The available rearview video camera yields a clear and helpful picture. |
Lexus introduced the RX 300 at the 1998 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit and the RX 300 became the best selling Lexus model. In January 2003, the second generation RX was unveiled at the NAIAS, renamed the RX 330 to reflect its larger displacement engine. RX 330 production began in Japan and in September 2003 Lexus began production of the RX 330 at an assembly plant in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, the first Lexus model to be built outside of Japan. | < Prev |
